YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — The dogs finally had their day at Yokota.

Dozens of owners trotted their pets out to “Puptoberfest 2007” on Saturday, a K-9 jamboree that featured contests, activities and giveaways. A demonstration by security forces military working dogs also was held.

Competitions included: Strut Your Mutt, Pet Look-a-Like, Best Trick, Best Halloween Costume and Most Unique Pet. Others checked out Puppy Playland, enjoyed free funnel cakes and posed for photos with their little best friends.

Bill Mikolajczyk has gone from selling 700-pound motorcycles to selling sparkling, silver jewelry to poodles.

Dusty Paws Pet Boutique opened in April. The store specializes in holistic foods and accessories.

The handlers paid $275 each for a room, meals and lessons on everything from costumes to music and training tactics.

They learned twists, passes, cha-cha steps and other movements, slinking across the floor with their furry friends.

While "Dancers with Woofs K9 Freestyle Dance Camp" purported to be the first in the region, enthusiasts have been dancing with ..

Cafe owner Manuela Knirsch, who is from Munich, said: "We will even be giving out free beer to dachshunds, Bavaria's favourite dog."

The dog Oktoberfest starts on September 20 - two days before the famous beer festival in Munich gets underway.

A billionaire has left £6million in her will to her dog.

Hotel magnate Leona Helmsley, who has died in New York aged 87, notoriously spoiled her bitch, Trouble.

Leona, dubbed the Queen of Mean, has left some relatives seething after leaving them nothing, reports The Sun.

Maltese terrier Trouble refused to eat from a bowl and staff had to feed her by hand - which often led to nasty nips.

Employees said Helmsley would even disrupt service in the kitchen of her Park Lane Hotel - where she lived - by insisting that the chef drop what he was doing ..
